These awards recognize how we leverage advanced technology, sustainable materials and digital delivery to help our clients deliver faster, smarter and better infrastructure for the community.    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local\u202f\u2013\u202fGrand\u202fPrize<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application of Ultra-high Strength S960 Steel in Civil Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We achieved a world first by applying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/advancing-the-use-of-innovative-construction-materials-in-hong-kong\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/advancing-the-use-of-innovative-construction-materials-in-hong-kong\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">S960 ultra-high strength steel<\/a> to two pedestrian bridges in the Northern\u202fMetropolis. This approach reduced the number of piles and the amount of prestressed concrete required, lowering carbon emissions while improving construction efficiency and buildability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local\u202fConstruction\u202fSustainability\u202f\u2013\u202fFirst\u202fPrize<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation in Precast Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) Permanent Tunnel Segmental Lining<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are the first in Hong\u202fKong to adopt precast SFRC as a permanent tunnel segment lining. Compared with traditional steel reinforcement, this technique allows for thinner segment linings, reducing carbon emissions and waste by around\u202f70 percent while improving productivity and quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local\u202fConstruction\u202fProductivity\u202f\u2013\u202fFirst Prize<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development of the\u202fLoop\u202f\u2013\u202fPioneering Bridge Construction with Innovative Full-span Deck and Special Lifting Frame Methods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Lok Ma Chau Loop\u2019s slip road ST01\u202fviaduct, we set a new benchmark by installing the bridge deck in just\u202ffive\u202fhours using a 360-degree rotating gantry \u2014 with only one traffic lane closed. This innovation improved safety, reduced disruption and boosted productivity on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Construction\u202fProductivity\u202f\u2013\u202fMerit\u202fAward<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">U-shaped Tunnel Boring Machine\u202f(UTBM)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our UTBM, named \u201cBauhinia\u201d, is the world\u2019s first unilateral excavation TBM and the first of its kind in Hong\u202fKong. By combining shield advancement and segment installation in a single machine, it streamlines underground construction, enhancing safety and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Construction\u202fSustainability\u202f\u2013\u202fMerit\u202fAward<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tung\u202fChung\u202fEco-shoreline:\u202fHong\u202fKong\u2019s\u202fNature-based\u202fSolution\u202ffor\u202fCoastal\u202fResilience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Tung\u202fChung, we demonstrated how engineering and ecology can work together. Through our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/projects\/tung-chung-east-new-town-extension-pioneering-sustainable-reclamation-and-eco-shoreline-development\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/projects\/tung-chung-east-new-town-extension-pioneering-sustainable-reclamation-and-eco-shoreline-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eco-shoreline<\/a> project, we integrated green coastal protection with biodiversity enhancement, creating resilient shorelines that support both urban development and natural ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Construction\u202fSafety\u202f\u2013\u202fMerit\u202fAward<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI-enabled \u201cDesign for Safety 2.0\u201d \u2013 Project-specific Agentic AI Safety System for the Loop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In collaboration with the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), we developed an AI-driven safety system that combines sovereign AI architecture with construction-focused language models.
