The Stantec-ArchTam Joint Venture work will directly support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navfac.navy.mil\/PEO-Infrastructure-and-Expeditionary\/PMO-555-SIOP\/\">US Navy\u2019s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP)<\/a> focusing on the modernization of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) in Kittery, Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to be selected for this important contract supporting NAVFAC\u2019s execution of the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stantec.com\/en\/people\/w\/williams-chris\">Chris Williams<\/a>, senior vice president, US Federal Programs at Stantec. \u201cWe look forward to applying our technical expertise to help modernize the Navy\u2019s shipyard infrastructure in support of fleet readiness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to partner with NAVFAC on this transformative effort to modernize the Navy\u2019s shipyard infrastructure,\u201d said Karl Jensen, executive vice president of ArchTam\u2019s Governments business. \u201cThis award highlights ArchTam\u2019s technical leadership and reinforces our role in delivering infrastructure that strengthens fleet readiness and operational resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Updating four naval shipyards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SIOP is upgrading and modernizing the infrastructure at all four US public naval shipyards: Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY), Hawaii; Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS), Washington; Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Virginia; and PNSY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US Navy shipyards were originally designed and built in the 19th and 20th centuries. SIOP is a comprehensive, long-term recapitalization effort that is delivering integrated investments in infrastructure and industrial plant equipment at the Navy\u2019s four public shipyards, expanding shipyard capacity and optimizing shipyard configuration to meet the Navy\u2019s fleet maintenance requirements. Recapitalizing the shipyards&#8217; century-old infrastructure increases maintenance throughput and improves quality of service for the Navy\u2019s 37,000 shipyard employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Continued partnership with NAVFAC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stantec has a longstanding relationship with NAVFAC and has supported SIOP programs and projects at all four naval shipyards.
