The new 970-foot-long, three-span, cast-in-place segmented concrete box girder bridge is situated in rugged terrain immediately downstream from Folsom Dam and over the American River.<\/p>\n<p>The crossing provides a critical new major crossing for vehicles and improved bicycle circulation in the region by incorporating Class I and II trails.
