{"id":29544,"date":"2019-03-26T06:33:35","date_gmt":"2019-03-26T06:33:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/projects\/macquarie-point-development-project\/"},"modified":"2019-03-26T02:34:14","modified_gmt":"2019-03-26T06:34:14","slug":"macquarie-point-development-project","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/projects\/macquarie-point-development-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Macquarie Point Development Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Macquarie Point Development Project aims to restore and re-energise a site that has long been associated with industrial, freight and rail use into a significant urban renewal hub for the people of Tasmania, incorporating cultural, public open space, science residential and commercial development<\/p>\n<p>ArchTam has been engaged by the Macquarie Point Development Corporation in the role of Project Remediation Consultant to assist with the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of a remediation strategy for the Macquarie Point site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approach <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Macquarie Point site, largely located on reclaimed land within the Hobart port area, comprises 9.3 hectares. The site and surrounding area have a history of mixed industrial use, including the former Hobart Gasworks, rail freight, and bulk fuel storage.<\/p>\n<p>The Macquarie Point Development Corporation (Corporation) was created by the Tasmanian Government to remediate and develop the site.<\/p>\n<p>The Corporation aims to develop the site for a mixture of uses, including arts, cultural, science, tourism, residential, commercial, with the intention to create an important inner-city arts, science and cultural centre.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of historical activities at the site, contamination is present in both soil and groundwater.<\/p>\n<p>ArchTam has undertaken extensive environmental assessment and remedial activities at the site to assist the Corporation with developing it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outcomes and Value<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through the work described above, ArchTam has been assisting the Corporation with the first-ever statutory audit of a site in Tasmania, and is close to achieving auditor sign-off for the first of seven precincts at the site, which will initiate the first phase of development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":454,"featured_media":29546,"template":"","tags":[],"city":[],"class_list":["post-29544","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/29544","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/project"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/454"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/29544\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":29545,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/29544\/revisions\/29545"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/29546"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=29544"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=29544"},{"taxonomy":"city","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/city?post=29544"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
