It will also position sports as a catalyst for urban redevelopment by creating inclusive public destinations which are adaptable and socially integrated to the city\u2019s urban community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A uniquely Singaporean design<\/strong><br \/>\nAs part of the design team responsible for Singapore Sports Hub, ArchTam provided master planning and landscape architecture for the 35-hectare waterfront site which encompasses a new national stadium with a movable roof, an Olympic-standard aquatic center, a multi-purpose sports hall, sports library and museum, as well as retail, restaurants and entertainment space.<br \/>\nKey to the masterplan is the orientation of key public spaces, establishing views back to the center of Singapore and to the city\u2019s famous skyline. The whole precinct is unified by a consistent philosophy and design approach to landscape, shade, shelter and lighting appropriate to Singapore\u2019s tropical climate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>\u201cWe are very proud of what we have designed and of our collaborative effort to build a remarkable project. The Sports Hub is an extremely important project that will deliver world-class sporting and integrated community facilities to the people of Singapore.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Karen Tham, Regional Director of Master Planning, Buildings + Places, Southeast Asia, ArchTam<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Connecting communities<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Singapore Sports Hub is designed to be a 24\/7 destination, connecting the community with sport and leisure. An active landscaped \u2018social plinth,\u2019 organized over three connected levels, will inject life and vibrancy between the various facilities and event plazas across the precinct.<br \/>\nMaking the most of the hub\u2019s strategic location, the walkable precinct area includes a \u2018sports promenade\u2019 \u2014 a space for everyday use, providing a fully accessible exercise area and connecting various public spaces \u2014 and links directly to local pedestrian and cycle networks.<br \/>\nThe area is connected to Singapore\u2019s island-wide park connector system, as well as to the Gardens by the Bay, the wider waterfront and surrounding residential areas.
