This includes ecosystem, engineering, energy, transportation, infrastructure, water, wastewater, and information resiliency analyses. How do we describe and measure resiliency? How does a resiliency analysis affect normal ROI evaluations? What would achieving a high resiliency look like to different administrative levels? More questions than answers at this point. We optimize interdisciplinary thinking, an absolute must for this type of evaluation. So much to do, so little time.

I live in Denver and am actively involved in Sister Cities International. Denver’s had success with a tri-lateral partnership with it’s sister cities Nairobi, Kenya and Kunming, China with a focus on water infrastructure and economic development. IBM has their Smarter Cities Challenge, and this program funded by the Rockefeller Foundation looks to be another excellent avenue to explore. Thanks for posting the article.
