Getting around by bike is a great way to experience a city.
That’s why many cities are introducing public bike share, building bike lanes and bike boulevardes.
Here in New Zealand 2/3 of urban trips are less than 6 km, and 1/3 less than 2 km. These are easy distances to cycle. There’s huge demand for cycling in our cities. Introducing 30 km/h speed limits is a great, cost-effective step to making our streets bike-friendly.
Urban cycling in on the up.
A new generation of adults prefer to walk or bike, than use a car.
City planners need to meet this demand, if our cities are to be atttractive places to live and work.
