The celebration of 8 March as International Women’s Day is a new concept for me, but women’s role in society has been respected for thousands of years,”. Men wishing sisters, mother and fellow female colleagues a Happy Women’s Day. They get flowers, scarves or other gifts.

Further, International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

I personally belong from Pakistan and am working in Middle East for last 15 years. The status of women in Pakistan is one of systemic gender subordination even though it varies considerably across classes, regions, and the rural/urban divide due to uneven socioeconomic development and the impact of tribal, feudal, and capitalist social formations on women’s lives. The Pakistani women of today do, however, enjoy a better status than the past.

During my abroad tenure, I got a chance to work with a woman very closely. Her name is NICOLE IVERS and now a days working with ArchTam is SH&E Director. She was from Consultancy end and I was having role of management of safety at project from contractor end. In initial days, I was feeling hesitation in coordination with her. The reason of reluctance was natural being a Pakistani man. I was feeling shy and was remaining in abstruse situation.

I become close to her very soon due to her supportive and courageous behavior. I found him more dedicated, highly hard worker and very honest in performing her job. I never seen a woman like dedicated to her commitment in my life. I feel her sympathies with very poor workers and the value of their work.

Once early morning, we both were delivering “Awareness Talk” to workers and I saw her weeping on the peevish situation of workers in the state. I feel my heart injured and inertly. All the entire workers stand devotedly in her respect of loyalty. Believe me, when we’re together at site, there was huge strength in my physique.

How can I will not be inspired for being a colleague of such brave woman. I cannot forget that precious moments of work. I want again to be a part of her work.

GOD BLESS HER EVER WITH ENORMOUS STRENGTH AND SMILE ON FACE EVER.

This day is to encourage women and salutes them for their resilience, patience and hard work. Women’s Day symbolises a woman’s determination and courage and highlights her progress made throughout the years. There are several women such as our Health & Environment (SH&E) director for the State of Qatar in the Middle East Nicole Ivers, who have put exceptional contributions to the uplift the safety culture epically in the Middle East region and a true leader. There is every day learning whenever I met her, She is full of life and focused mentor. It was my pleasure working in the New Doha Port Project.
