As the first FTA-sponsored design-build\/operate\/maintain (DBOM) transit project, Tren Urbano&#8217;s specialized contractor procurement and program management strategy was developed and carried out by ArchTam to ensure the client&#8217;s control over the process and results. Tren Urbano is a high-capacity, third rail-powered transit system encompassing 16 stations in the densely developed, adjacent municipalities of Bayamon, Guaynabo, and San Juan. Phase I delivered rail transit to Puerto Rico by 2004, connecting key commercial, institutional, and residential destinations.<\/p>\n<p>The Tren Urbano project represents many significant accomplishments, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the first rapid transit rail system and most significant civil works initiative undertaken in Puerto Rico.<\/li>\n<li>It is one of four FTA turnkey demonstration projects selected as an innovative design-build approach to rail construction.<\/li>\n<li>It features the unprecedented completion and delivery of a DEIS\/FEIS and Record of Decision in 18 months.<\/li>\n<li>It involved administration of the largest technology-transfer program to date in Puerto Rico, and involved college students and non technical personnel from the local community during the planning, design, construction, and start-up phases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the program manager, ArchTam developed conceptual design, performed transportation and urban planning, preliminary design for the line structure, tunnel and stations, provided systems design, and performed construction oversight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":9765,"template":"","tags":[],"city":[436,437,435],"class_list":["post-9763","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","city-bayamon","city-guaynabo","city-san-juan"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/9763","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/project"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/7"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/project\/9763\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/9765"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9763"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9763"},{"taxonomy":"city","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.archtam.com\/pr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/city?post=9763"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
